Some registries require the registrant (you) to have a local address during the registration process. This is the case for Afnic (.fr), DENIC (.de), EURid (.eu) and a few others. Depending on the TLD this address needs to be in the country itself, in the European Union/European Economic Area (EEA) or in another specified region.
For those who do not have access to such local addresses we offer domicile services for some TLDs. Once activated during checkout, our registrar will supply a local address which you can use to meet the registry's requirements. The domicile service has a small charge which will be invoiced with your domain name. The charge may vary depending on the country.
We cannot offer domicile services for all TLDs which require local presence. For TLDs where we do not offer this service you will have to make sure to retrieve a valid address yourself.
(Outgoing) Transfer
With the domicile service it is sometimes prohibited to transfer the domain to another registrar. This is to prevent registrars from not being able to manage the trustee a domain name is using. In order to retrieve the transfer code, you'll firstly have to disable the domicile service. You may also contact our support team to help you.
